Awell-known author, speaker and international advisor on education Ken Robinson observes that “The core purpose of education is to prepare young people for life after school; helping them to build up the mental, emotional, social, and strategic resources to enjoy challenge and cope well with uncertainty and complexity.” Over a period of time, schools have changed a lot and the duty of education is amended to fuel the growth of children in accordance with the changing world. Hence, we agree with Ken Robinson. It’s in this context, that I am pleased and proud to share some thoughts about Citadel Residential School. The core of Citadel’s education is to prepare them for “Life after school.” It’s really that simple as Nelson Mandela pointed out that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Therefore Citadel is committed to provide a unique and an exhilarating lifestyle education to students for their life after school and thus to change the world.
Our task in the field of education is to help children climb their own mountains as high as possible. They need the “mental, emotional, social and strategic resources” to live in a world that none of us really know about. Instead of rolling the dice with the lives of those we teach, we need to provide an education that allows them to face the unknown. Hence our aim is to inculcate in every student with the best values possible i.e, intellectual, moral, spiritual, social and cultural to make them best citizens, efficient leaders and responsible individuals.
